A Hydrated Lawn is a Happy Lawn:

Be sure to keep your lawn properly watered during the winter months. Long dry spells in particular can result in a scraggly looking yard. Water early in the morning to ensure that the water does not evaporate before it hits the roots, and to allow adequate drying time before the sun goes down. If you do not have a sprinkler system set up, an inexpensive portable sprinkler (the kind that attaches to a hose) and timer can be purchased at your local hardware store.

Don’t Leave the Leaves:

Leaf removal is key to keeping your lawn healthy and happy all winter long. Fallen leaves can block the sun, retain moisture, and rot. This increases the chances that the roots of your grass will develop molds and mildews. Raked leaves make excellent compost, which can then be added to flower and vegetable beds.
