Leaf removal is key to keeping your lawn healthy and happy all winter long. Fallen leaves can block the sun, retain moisture, and rot. This increases the chances that the roots of your grass will develop molds and mildews. Raked leaves make excellent compost, which can then be added to flower and vegetable beds.
